‘Bodyguard’ opens Baghdad int’l filmfest

Iranian noted movie ‘Bodyguard’ by Ebrahim Hatamikia has opened the 8th Baghdad International Film Festival in Iraq.

The film went on screen at the festival’s opening day on Saturday, December 3rd with the attendance of a number of diplomats and cultural officials in the Iraqi capital city of Baghdad.

‘Bodyguard’ has so far been shown in many countries, including Germany, Canada, Australia, Britain, Lebanon, Syria and Afghanistan.

Prominent Iranian filmmaker Hatamikia’s ‘The Bodyguard’ depicts idealism in the new era. It narrates the story of a middle-aged man protecting high-profile political figures.

Starring Parviz Parastoui, Merila Zarei and Babak Hamidian, the movie won four awards at 34th Fajr Film Festival; namely, the Best Actor in a Leading Role, the Best Visual Effects, the Best Director and the Best Picture.

Hosting 1750 films from around the world, the 8th edition of Baghdad International Film Festival is being held from December 3rd until December 7th, 2016.
